The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance operations located in our Moncton sheet plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the plant’s equipment and facilities are maintained at peak performance, contributing to production efficiency, safety, and overall operational success.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial maintenance management, particularly in a corrugating sheet plant or similar manufacturing environment. The individual will be proactive and well experienced in leading a team, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, and fostering continuous improvement across all plant systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance members by providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency
  • Assist in managing tool/spare parts and responsible for the stock room
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives, staying updated on advancements in maintenance technology and lean manufacturing principles
  • Implementation of an asset management system, utilization of maintenance records for evaluation and refinement, and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) are key responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of safety within the maintenance team and contribute to safety initiatives in the plant.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, Corporate Reliability Manager, and other departments to align maintenance goals with overall production targets. Share data and performance metrics with the Corporate Reliability Manager and implement corporate initiatives as needed.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Lead or support emergency response efforts during unplanned shutdowns or critical equipment failures, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING INCLUDES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or other related degree, Red Seal Skilled Trade or related experience will be considered.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within corrugating or packaging.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical systems, with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams and driving performance improvements.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other maintenance tracking tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and environmental guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of fostering buy-in and collaboration across our teams.
  • Budget management experience and a cost-conscious mindset.
