Priory Marlow offer a warm and nurturing environment where people receive intensive treatment for eating disorders including severe and enduring anorexia nervosa. We work together to achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life for everyone in our care. The hospital has 14 beds and is located on the outskirts of High Wycombe.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager working at Priory Hospital Marlow. The right person will be dedicated to patient centred care and a strong people manager, perhaps looking to gain experience as the next step in their career and make a real difference to peoples lives.
We have an ’Outstanding’ in Caring from the CQC and ‘Good’ in all other domains.
A relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification within one of they key electrical, mechanical or building trades with Joint Industries Board (JIB) approved status.
Experience gained within a facilities, operations, trade or maintenance role.
The job holder must currently hold a full clean driving licence and have been qualified for 3 years.

Reporting into the Hospital Director, the Maintenance Manager forms part of the hospital Senior Management Team and is wholly responsible for the operation of support services for the unit including the catering, housekeeping, maintenance, administration and reception functions.

  • Ensures the maintenance of a well decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the unit, in line with quality standards and ensues that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
  • Manages, oversees and undertakes a variety of general maintenance jobs as required, with particular focus on ensuring that patient related jobs are completed as a priory. Prioritises the work of Maintenance Assistants and / or Gardeners as befits their skill level.
  • Identifies damage, faults and other related issues, and prioritise their repair or replacement, whilst ensuring that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations. Receives and acts upon information concerning faults or damage.
  • Liaises with local contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance, in order that planned and preventative maintenance schedules can be completed in a timely fashion. Additionally, monitors local contracts as required, deals with any variances directly with contractors.
  • Under direction, sources and collates capital expenditure projects costings, and then locally project manages, as agreed with senior managers.
  • Proposes new services to regional management, taking into account the needs of the local area.
  • Certifies purchase orders and invoices ensuring that any spends are appropriately pre-authorised, and within budget.
  • Project solving is based on acquired knowledge, skills and experience, with occasional need for adaptive or creative solutions, as and when the unit’s operation demands.
  • Day to day supervisory responsibility for a small team of catering, housekeeping, maintenance, administration and reception functions.
  • Responsible for ensuring confidentiality and identity of patients, at Priory units.
