Company Description Palé Hall, one of the leading destination hotels in Wales, is recruiting a full time Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the maintenance and compliance of this magnificent Victorian country house, set in 25 acres of formal garden and woodland. We are seeking candidates with considerable experience in all aspects of maintenance. The role will involve close liaison with the operational heads of department and with the gardens team to ensure that work is prioritised in a timely manner with the minimum of disruption to the hotel operation. Purpose of role: To be responsible for the day to day and planned preventative maintenance and compliance of the hotel building, garden suites and associated areas of the business. To ensure that routine inspections and services are scheduled and carried out in a timely manner. To liaise with departmental managers and heads of department in co-ordinating and prioritising all maintenance requirements to ensure that the highest standards are preserved at all times. To direct the Maintenance Assistant, and ensure that all equipment and machinery is operated in a safe and professional manner. Personal requirements: To be self motivated, well organised and thorough, with a clear understanding of the expectations of the business and what is required within the role. To have the skills and knowledge to maintain the fabric, fixtures and fittings of the hotel to the highest standards within the budgeted limits to ensure that the hotel and associated areas are fully operational. To have excellent communication skills, and to display a positive, willing and flexible attitude towards the role and the working environment. Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK, and be confident that they can commute to the hotel within the shift pattern of the role. Job Description To liaise with management in creating and adhering to a matrix of planned preventative maintenance, ensuring that routine inspections, services and upgrades are scheduled and carried out when required using appointed contractors. To undertake in-house decorating, joinery, plumbing and electrical tasks within your own limits of knowledge and skill. To maintain and update the compliance centre system regarding health and safety reporting and certification. To maintain accurate records and certification of statutory and legislative work completed. To liaise daily with the Housekeeping department to ensure that all maintenance requirements are logged and completed in a timely manner. To direct and supervise external contactors, ensuring that they follow hotel guidelines. Qualifications An extensive knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance, and evidence of professional certification.
