POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager leads, organizes, and coordinates maintenance personnel and activities. The manager is responsible to augment and execute appropriate Sunrise maintenance programs with goals of providing facility and equipment reliabilities in an efficient and effective fashion.
We are seeking a Maintenance leader who is hands-on and enjoys spending time on the production floor assisting and managing people.
This unique Maintenance Manager position provides an ideal opportunity for a hands-on technical individual to grow their career by being a part of the leading tofu manufacturing company in the country.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Secondary Education related area of study and/or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing role
  • Industrial Electrician, Boiler Operator and/or Millwright Certification (or combined knowledge and experience)
  • PLC programming skills are an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills built on a team-focused approach
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, lead and manage maintenance department outputs, ensuring they meet plant requirements to run efficiently and safely to meet Plant KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain the weekly manpower schedule, ensuring correct skill set are at work at the right time to ensure timely repairs and support.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for execution of maintenance work, ensuring best value for dollars spent. Consult with Corporate Maintenance as needed.
  • Main point of contact for external maintenance contractors, overseeing and ensuring fulfillment of contract terms and satisfactory completions of contracted jobs
  • Develop and maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance Program for efficient operations of production lines and prevention of constant breakdowns.
  • Draft, implement, and track departmental cost savings plan via consistent communication with the team and monthly reports on cost savings progress
  • Develop, implement and maintain a spare part and tools inventory, eliminating overstocking and unstocking
  • Identify people, process and equipment problems and implement measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
  • Ensure safety regulations requirements are met
  • Ensuring building functionality by checking and maintaining electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Participant in development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet HACCP, KOSHER, SQF, CFIA and QAI standards and regulations.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective and consistent communications, coaching, training, development and evaluation of employee performance for your team.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of maintenance team members through effective assignment of duties, setting of priorities, delegation of work, discipline, and dismissal.
  • Understand and enforce provincial Employment Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
