We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations for our truck fleet and heavy equipment and Manufacturing Equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with Canadian standards and regulations.
Position Overview: The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the overall Manufacturing Equipment and coordination of maintenance activities for a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. This includes developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing repair schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of skilled mechanics and technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet or equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven knowledge of heavy equipment and diesel truck maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian regulations, including NSC and OHSA requirements.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and fleet management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance and repair activities for truck fleet and heavy equipment, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and Manufacturing Equipment and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of fleet and equipment.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and managing procurement as necessary.
  • Coordinate with operations and dispatch teams and plant supervisors to ensure vehicle and equipment availability aligns with operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal regulations, including NSC (National Safety Code) and OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key maintenance KPIs, including:
  • Downtime: Measure fleet availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Maintenance Cost per Kilometer/Hour: Track maintenance expenses relative to vehicle usage.
  • Repair Turnaround Time: Ensure quick response and completion time for repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Compliance Rate: Track adherence to scheduled PM tasks.
  • Repeat Repair Rate: Minimize rework by addressing root causes of failures.
  • Warranty Recovery Rate: Maximize claims and reimbursement for parts under warranty.
  • Technician Productivity: Monitor work order completion rates per technician.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for outsourced repairs and parts supplies.
