KIT Recruitment is proud to partner with a rapidly expanding agri-food company searching for a hands-on Maintenance Manager. This is a key leadership role overseeing maintenance operations across multiple processing plants in Western Canada.
The right candidate will be a seasoned maintenance leader with the expertise to keep complex equipment running smoothly, the leadership to manage multi-site teams, and the drive to improve reliability and efficiency across the board.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER – QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the agricultural or food manufacturing sector
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple locations
  • Strong background in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems
  • Inter-provincial Red Seal Millwright or Mechanic Certification or similar qualification
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, WHMIS, and other relevant safety regulations and standards
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with technicians, production staff, and management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the overall preventative maintenance program for all equipment and systems across Western Canada
  • Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient task allocation and continuous development
  • Oversee maintenance operations across Western Canada
  • Address and resolve mechanical failures, ensuring optimal performance of critical grain equipment like cleaners, splitting equipment, de-stoners, dryers, conveyors, and other machinery
  • Manage routine and emergency corrective and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
  • Ensure maintenance operations comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies, keeping accurate records of activities, repairs, inspections, and inventory
  • Collaborate with production teams and other departments to address equipment performance issues and minimize disruption to operations
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Ensure safety by de-energizing equipment prior to starting maintenance activities and working in compliance with safety protocols
