The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing existing production equipment in a Manufacturing/Food Environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment Handling basic repairs and maintenance. Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance to correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity and/or quality standards. Repairing machines and equipment, as necessary. Preventing unexpected machine breakdowns. Control downtime by communicating with all departments. Maintain equipment, parts and supplies, conserve resources when able. Prepare maintenance reports, document, and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals. Understand how to use measuring equipment. Ability to breakdown, repair, rebuild, and troubleshoot Production Machines. Ability to make simple parts or equipment and tools. Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment, and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures. Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors. Essential to this Position 1st Shift - Working 10-hour Shifts Monday through Thursday Many advancement opportunities! Education & Experience Education Desired - High School Diploma or Equivalent Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner. Ability to effectively work in teams. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles. Must have basic math, reading, and communication skills. Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions. Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting. Frequent standing/walking required. Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. The expected salary range for this position is $30-$36/hour.
