Description Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Essential Job Functions: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following. · Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems, processing equipment, packing equipment, washing equipment, labeling equipment, HDPE bottle production equipment and utilities. · Performs preventative and failure maintenance activities utilizing equipment diagrams, schematics, equipment/operations manuals. · Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. · Electrical – 120V, 240V 480V. Pull wiring, pipe bending, connections etc. PLC’s. · Instrumentation Calibration · Grease & Lubrication of equipment · Welding – MIG, TIG and Stick · Hydraulics, Pneumatics. · Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. · Set up and assist in operator startup for production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. · Follow all company GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all safety regulatory requirements. · Maintain regular and punctual attendance. · Work overtime as assigned. · Ability to work cooperatively with others. · Comply with all company policies and procedures. Requirements Must Have Experience: Candidates must have experience in the dairy industry and with paper fillers, EQs, and N8. Minimum Required Qualifications: The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:· High school graduate or equivalent preferred.· 3+ years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing facility; food industry preferred.· Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience.· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for extended hours. · Must have well developed organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.· Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.· Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issues. They also assist in operator startup for production equipment and monitor compliance with safety and GMP standards.
