SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Hardworking and physically fit, you will need to have a C Class manual drivers license and have previous experience working across the agriculture industry in a similar role. With excellent mechanical knowledge and great trouble shooting skills you’ll be able to solve complex problems quickly and effectively. While not essential, candidates with mechanical trade qualifications and certification to work on air-conditioning systems will be highly regarded. Respectful and responsible, applicants should display the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge and ability to work and repair a wide range of farm machinery
  • Knowledge and experience in maintenance and repair of irrigation pumps and bores
  • Physically fit, self-motivated and very reliable

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are pleased to be assisting our client in their search for a Maintenance Mechanic to be based in Hillston, NSW. Working across the almond orchard and cropping operations, you will assist with the maintenance of all pumps and bores while also servicing and maintaining all farm machinery and vehicles.
Reporting to and working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a key team role with other farm staff to ensure the optimum and efficient performance of all mechanical equipment.

Your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Sourcing and ordering parts for repairs to all machines and engines
  • Regular maintenance and repair of bores - including meter readings, fuel dips weekly, general maintenance
  • Regular and preventative maintenance and repairs of farm vehicles including sprayers, tractors, harvest equipment and other machinery
  • Updating the maintenance register recording all work carried out, parts needed, parts installed, serial numbers etc.
  • Guiding and coaching other maintenance personnel to ensure machinery and equipment is work ready and safe.
  • Reporting and maintaining documentation for maintenance and operational activities
  • Following Workplace Health and Safety systems and processes to carry out all tasks safely
