Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Mertz 1701 N Waverly - Ponca City, OK 74601 Position Type: Full Time Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Department: Production Maintenance Job Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Hourly Reports To: Manager- Maintenance Location: Ponca City, OK Amount of Travel Required: N/A Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (5:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) Positions Supervised: N/A POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic will join our team and help keep our forklifts, fleet vehicles, and general operations running smoothly. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.") Perform maintenance functions, making repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems with minimal guidance from the maintenance supervisor. Troubleshoot and conduct mechanical and electrical repairs. Provide training in your areas of expertise. Respond to work orders submitted by employees. Assist in ordering parts and developing a preventative maintenance program. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Support the installation of new equipment and facility upgrades. Work safely by following all safety rules, policies, and procedures, and report unsafe conditions to your supervisor. Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits. Engage in basic design and fabrication of repairs and process improvements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, an any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s). In-person, predictable attendance EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL High School Diploma or GED equivalent certificate. 0-2 years of related industrial mechanic experience; 2-5 yrs. Preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment not required, but highly desirable. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES Experience/knowledge in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, confined space work, mobile equipment, MIG welding, and oxy/plasma cutting. Ability to adapt to change and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong problem-solving skills. Physical capabilities to bend, squat, kneel, and climb frequently; stand for a minimum of 3 hours; and lift materials weighing between 50 lbs to 70 lbs occasionally. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and piping diagrams in various formats. Maintenance Mechanics are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, the Maintenance Mechanic must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50 100 lbs. with a team lift.
