JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment and systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. This role performs a combination of mechanical maintenance tasks traditionally associated with millwright and boilermaker work, including machinery alignment, structural repairs, piping, pressure components, and preventative maintenance activities. The Maintenance Mechanic works in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment supporting continuous operations.   MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE & REPAIR * Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, fans, compressors, boilers, and pressure vessels * Install, align, level, and adjust rotating and stationary machinery using precision tools * Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components using cutting, grinding, welding, and fitting techniques * Replace bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, belts, and chains * Read and interpret blueprints, schmatics, and equipment manuals * Conduct machinery installation, rigging, and alignment * Dismantle, move, and reinstall heavy industrial equipment * Support plant outages, shutdowns, and major equipment rebuilds     Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED * High school diploma or GED * 3–7 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or similar trade work * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * Experience working with industrial machinery, piping, and mechanical systems * Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions PREFERRED * Trade school or apprenticeship (Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, or Boilermaker) * Welding experience (stick, MIG, TIG) * Experience in operating facilities (manufacturing, power generation, refinery, mill) * Familiarity with CMMS systems -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work * Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights * Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and industrial environments * Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, outages, or emergency call-outs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KEY COMPETENCIES * Mechanical troubleshooting * Equipment installation and alignment * Safety awareness and compliance * Team collaboration * Attention to detail
