Description

The Millwright Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the facility’s infrastructure, equipment, and utilities systems to ensure optimal operations within a food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role supports compliance with food safety, sanitation, and environmental standards while ensuring minimal disruption to production.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a facilities or maintenance technician role, preferably in a regulated food, beverage, or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Knowledge of building systems: HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills for work order systems and facility tracking.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
Responsibilities
  • Perform general facility maintenance duties including Mechanical, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, compressed air, and water systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to building systems and facility support equipment.
  • Support daily operations by addressing service calls related to equipment, utilities, and facility needs.
  • Maintain and repair doors, ceilings, floors, walls, roofs, and other structural components.
  • Ensure food safety compliance by adhering to GMPs, sanitation standards, and company SOPs.
  • Work with contractors and vendors to coordinate inspections, repairs, and service contracts.
  • Assist in calibration and monitoring of environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
  • Document work performed, update logs, and maintain accurate records in CMMS or other systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audits (HACCP, SQF, GMP, etc.).
  • Monitor inventory and request supplies and materials as needed.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote safe working practices.
  • Support emergency response (power outages, equipment failure, facility damage).
