Position Highlights: Position: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Arlington Heights, IL Full Time: 40 hours/week Hours: Monday-Friday 7am - 3:30pm, rotating weekend and holidays A Brief Overview: Seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our facilities team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of the hospital's equipment, machinery, and facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient healthcare environment. What you will do: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of hospital equipment and machinery, including HVAC systems, generators, pumps, and medical devices. Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks. Address facility-related issues to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance issues, responding to urgent situations promptly and effectively. Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments during emergency situations or major facility disruptions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment inspections. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for documentation and tracking purposes. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Identify and address safety hazards in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members, as well as hospital staff, to address maintenance needs and contribute to a smoothly operating facility. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks. What you will need: Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting.
