Description The Maintenance Mechanic works under general direction with a framework of established procedures; is expected to perform a wide variety of skilled and semiskilled building maintenance and repair work. This role supports plant operations by maintaining machinery, facilities, and equipment in safe and efficient working conditions. Repairs and maintains machinery, plumbing, physical structure, grounds and electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with blueprints manuals, and building codes, using hand tools and power tools. Performs routine maintenance and preventative maintenance to support PM Program and production. Replace or repairs machine belts. Removes dust, dirt grease and waste materials from machines. Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion. Installs electrical equipment and repairs or replaces wiring, fixtures and bulbs. Repairs or replaces brick and plaster walls. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment. Assists with higher level mechanics and performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Requirements Ability to read blueprints and proficient use of computer programs. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Effective communication and documentation skills with strong attention to detail necessary, as well as the ability to learn new equipment and technology. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
