Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Reports to: Maintenance Manager Department: Maintenance Classification: Non-Exempt   Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, utilities, and facility systems in a food manufacturing environment. This role supports safe, efficient, and continuous operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring equipment reliability while following all safety, GMP, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment where accuracy, safety, and teamwork are critical to success.   Key Responsibilities: * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems according to established schedules. * Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting production equipment. * Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective, timely repairs to minimize downtime. * Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify safety hazards, wear, or operational issues. * Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, using manual or computerized maintenance systems. * Support installation, setup, and commissioning of new or modified equipment. * Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). * Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and sanitation standards. * Respond to urgent maintenance needs during production and support planned shutdowns or downtime activities. * Communicate effectively with production, quality, and operations teams to support business needs. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. * Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or an associate degree in maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred. * Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. * Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. * Proficient in the use of maintenance tools and equipment. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. * Flexibility to work on-call or overtime when required. Work Environment: * Work is performed in a warehouse and food manufacturing environment. * Regular exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, noise levels, powders, allergens, and food ingredients. * Frequent standing, sitting, and walking throughout scheduled shifts. * Regular bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting as part of material-handling activities. * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. * Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies. * May be required to work varying shifts, weekends, and extra time dependent on business needs.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.   Pay Range and Benefits   Pay Range: $43680 - $83200 annually, based on qualifications and experience..
