Job Details Job Location: Tipton Plant - Tipton, CA 93272 Position Type: Union Salary Range: $31.74 - $31.74 Hourly Union: This position falls under a Collective Bargaining Agreement | Chapter 517 Location: 531 West Poplar Avenue| Tipton | CA | 93272 Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.50 hour Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic Level II works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. The mechanic is primarily responsible for ensuring that production equipment is at maximum uptime and in good repair. Troubleshooting skills and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential for success. The expectation is the mechanic Level II will continue to grow in skills and abilities working closely with supervision and Level IV mechanics such that they are promotable to Level III when the opportunities arise. Primary Responsibilities Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift. Maintain, test and repair plant equipment to include, but not limited to conveyors, motors, pumps, bearings, and valves. Fabricate parts and production piping equipment as required. Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment per the P.M. schedule: SROs for prescheduled preventative maintenance work will be issued to mechanics at the start of their shift. The SRO will contain a description of the work to be performed. The mechanic will record the following information. record parts used. provide a brief description of the steps taken to complete the work order. enter name and signature. provide labor minutes or hours take to complete the task. Unscheduled Maintenance work: Mechanics are required to submit written SROs for unscheduled work as follows- record the: unit identification. provide a brief description of repair identify SRO type as either pm, safety, enhancement, or service. reason for the repair. parts used for the repair print name and add signature. Quantify labor minutes/hours to complete the task. Enter SRO’s electronically when directed by the Maintenance Manager and or Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain list of parts used on all annual overhaul’s unit identification on data collection sheet. The mechanic must identify equipment machine number on the SRO. Replace lights, starters dryers, pumps, seals gear boxes, shafts, augers and piping as required. Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment per the P.M. schedule. Train maintenance entry maintenance mechanics in basic lubrication and preventive maintenance techniques Alert Maintenance Manager and or Maintenance Supervisor to any non-standard condition or parts requirements especially those which pose a food safety or human safety danger. Follow all safety rules and practices to include wearing all personal protective equipment. Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices. Assist general contractors as directed with the installation of new or modified equipment. Act professionally toward customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant. Follow any other instructions of the Maintenance Manager and or Maintenance Supervisor. Progress in skill levels, learn to repair utility systems and advance in ammonia systems knowledge and repair. Performs other duties as assigned and required. Qualifications and Education Requirements Demonstrated and verifiable maintenance skills and mechanical aptitude. Post high school education in industrial maintenance, electronics and hydraulics on PLC is a major plus. MIG/ARC welding skills are a major plus. Minimum of three years industrial maintenance experience. Post high school education in maintenance related courses is a plus. Physical Requirements The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is necessary. 90% of the time in the plant repairing equipment. This may require bending and climbing stairs and ladders on a regular basis. 10% in the maintenance shop; fabricating parts or equipment. May be required to lift to 50lbs. on occasion. Responsibilities

The Maintenance Mechanic Level II is responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing production equipment to ensure maximum uptime. They also perform preventive maintenance and assist in training entry-level mechanics.
