What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for the installation and set up new equipment and performs maintenance and repair on all existing equipment to ensure quality, efficiency and safety requirements are met. This position uses computer software and a strong mechanical background and aptitude to support various areas of Elmira Pet Products. A 433A Millwright Trade Certificate is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Install and set-up new equipment.
  • Repair equipment to ensure production continuity.
  • Rebuild extruders.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, extruders, gear boxes, pumps and other equipment.
  • Yard and building repairs.
  • Fabricate equipment as required.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and operating guidelines.
  • Available for “call in” in response to break downs of machinery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll have:

  • Industrial Mechanic Millwright Trade Certification (433A).
  • 3rd or 4th year Millwright Apprentice will be considered.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
  • Knowledge of metal cutting, grinding and welding.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
