Job Details Job Location: Rutland, VT Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $22.20 - $25.53 Hourly Job Shift: 2nd Shift Description MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, PLASTICS (Band 6) BASE SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday, 2:30PM – 11:00PM STARTING PAY RANGE: $22.20 - $25.53 per hour JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the overall operating performance of a variety of machines within the Plastics facility. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while helping to improve the efficiency of machines by minimizing downtime. This position will have a primary focus in Plastics with support to the Mill, Assembly, R&D and other Vermont facilities, as necessary. Responsible for plastics injection molding and extruding equipment, material loading systems, and assist in Plastic operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant facilities. · Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment. · Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment for efficient and safe operation. · Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair on production and packaging machines and use a variety of maintenance tools. · Coordinate and install new equipment as necessary and work with other technical support to ensure proper procedures/operation. · Read and interpret work orders to perform required maintenance and service and complete the necessary reports on work completion. · Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and Carris Reels safety program, including responsible for hazardous waste records and disposal. · Maintain spare parts and maintenance supplies, including ordering and receiving from vendors. · Maintain clean and orderly work areas. · All other duties as required Employee Owners at Carris enjoy: A Lucrative Employee Stock Ownership Plan Annual Profit Sharing Potential for monthly production incentives Fantastic Benefits- Including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Weekly payroll Discounted company branded employee gear and other perks Regular, year-round schedules Paid holidays Qualifications Plastics injection molding: 1 year (Preferred) Proficient with PLC’s, operation, and programming (Preferred) Technical training in mechanical, industrial electrical, and hydraulics Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations. Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment that requires fulfillment of daily commitments. Effectively gather and analyze information to allow for timely/efficient decision making. Possess computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Ability to take a proactive approach to people, production, and business needs. High School Diploma or equivalent Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration along with maintenance fluids like oil, grease, and cleaners. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud, and personal protective equipment is required (high visibility garments, ear plugs, safety glasses, safety toe work shoes at minimum). This position requires constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds, with reaching, pulling, pushing.
