Sensient is growing! We are adding an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to our team in Kingston, ON. This important role will perform all functions of plant maintenance. Primary responsibilities for support are preventative and predictive maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, installation of plant equipment, machinery, and buildings in a safe and professional manner.

What You’ll Do:

  • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot machinery, building utilities, and equipment. Use and operate Maintenance Department tools, machinery, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Adhere to all GMP and safety procedures.
  • Always Work within the guidelines of good manufacturing practices. Support the plant by providing technical support as assigned in a rapid growth environment.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and schematics to troubleshoot and perform repairs on machinery and equipment with minimal instruction from Supervisor.
  • Assist in all maintenance as needed and help in training and development processes. Perform services on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems. Knowledge of pumps, blenders, agitators, mills, and filling lines is an asset.
  • Able to work within the CMMS system and site documentation systems to ensure data is accurate and useful during audits.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervision or management

    What You’ll Bring:

  • A detailed knowledge of safe work practices, food manufacturing equipment, and the ability to make decisions concerning the operation of this equipment, which directly affects production capabilities.

  • The ability to grow and progresses through the system and work with a reduced amount of supervision as their skills improve.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Trade Certificate preferred. Must have a history of good attendance.
  • Food/Ingredient Production knowledge is an asset. As well as GMP requirements. Continuous improvement and root cause mindset welcomed.
  • Capability of working independently or in a team atmosphere and establish good working relationships and communication with production team members, maintenance mechanics, supervisors and management, and contractors.
