Description Southern Foodservice Management, a national contact food service company, is now looking to hire a Part- time Maintenance Mechanic for our FLETC Artesia location in Artesia New Mexico. We are looking for individuals who are committed to providing the best possible dining experience with a positive and respectful work environment. The training shift will be 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM. After training, the regular shift will be 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM This is 7 days a week operation. Job Summary Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and equipment. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts. Engage with vendors to request and evaluate pricing quotations for equipment and replacement parts. Orders and installs replacement parts for machines. Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines. Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently. Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies. Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines. Qualifications and Skills Four years of recent experience with commercial food service equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas stoves and ovens, steamers, warmers, and fryers. Valid refrigeration certification. (Required) CFESA certification, HVAC certification. (Preferred) Knowledge of gas operated equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration and a variety of cooking equipment. Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations. Possess computer skills. Must be organized and possess the ability to efficiently prioritize and manage workload. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member on joint projects. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, vendors, contractors, and other facility staff. Ability to understand equipment specifications and requirements from construction blueprints, drawings and plans. Ability to maintain accurate records for documentation purposes. Demonstrated ability to effectively and accurately explain to users how to properly operate equipment. Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. Works well independently and with others. Good communication skills. Organized with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
