Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic II assists the Facility Director in maintaining overall operation of YMCA buildings, grounds and vehicles. Who Are We? Actively participate in preventive maintenance program. Troubleshoot/correct mechanical, electrical, and plumbing related problems. Maintain swimming pools per CCHD and PA Dept. of Health Regulations. Be proactive in cleaning the facility interior/exterior, and complete cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor. Select and use appropriate tools and materials according to job specifications. Notify supervisor of supplies needed and inventory shortages. Adhere to safety and risk management procedures and alert management of any safety violations or risk situations. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the task at hand. Complete projects on or before scheduled time. Identify safety/maintenance/aesthetic items that need attention. Suggest a plan to improve to the Facility Director immediately. Perform additional duties – including custodial/janitorial tasks – as assigned by supervisor. Be available to attend meetings, training courses, classes or seminars that relate to improving trade skills and member service. Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications What You'll Need High school diploma or GED required Must be at least 21 years of age Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance Mechanical and electrical experience required Must have valid driver’s license Must obtain Class 24 Pesticide Certification within one (1) year of hire/promotion Must obtain Certified Pool Operator (C.P.O.)” within one year of hire/promotion Must be well groomed and have good communication skills Must have above average knowledge of one of the trades (i.e., plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, painting, landscaping, electrical & other wiring, general construction, etc.) Must have basic computer skills Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire Work Conditions and Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
