MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Diploma or NQF level 6 in Mechanical engineering.
  • Qualified Artisan would be advantages.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Microsoft office (Word, excel, outlook) skills be an advantage.
  • English language proficiency written and reading.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCY:

  • Strategic thinker, negotiation skills regarding Service Level agreements etc.
  • Budget control and financial aptitude and knowledge.
  • Have rigorous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general safety procedures.
  • Ability to translate and meet maintenance requirements as specified.
  • Trouble shooting ability
  • Strong conceptualization skills

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • RDM day shift employees reporting into Mechanical Supervisor. (Maintenance manager can change the electrical/mechanical supervisor to attend to RDM or Shift teams to his discretion)
  • Ensure all Mechanical PMs (Preventative Maintenance Schedules) are to required OEM Standards and recorded within the PRM system.
  • Ensure all PM’s (electrical and mechanical) are completed to work standard and timing and recorded within the relevant PRM system.
  • Review Mechanical engineering drawings, update, and correct as required.
  • Ensure fabrication standards are maintained by assigned staff.
  • Capex and Budget control
  • Recruit, guide, train, monitor and discipline assigned employees as required.
  • Plan and prepare work and equipment usage schedules.
  • Develop mechanical expenditures priority for equipment
  • Develop, refine and maintain applicable mechanical maintenance procedures.
  • Develop mechanical material and labour forecasts.
  • Train and inform employees about new work procedures.
  • Provide information on modification on work policies, safety regulations, electrical codes and specifications.
  • Review future buildings plans and inspect new buildings to ensure compliance with current mechanical codes and maintenance specifications.
  • Maintain all required Mechanical & Electrical legislative documentation. (Working with electrical supervisor)
  • Manage all Routine Site maintenance activities. I.e. Canteen, garden, building repairs, cleaning
