Note: At times, additional work hours & schedules will exist at the request of the client to meet specific work schedules support Maintenance, Capital, and Production work activities. Scheduled and unscheduled outages may require long hours. Job Description Maintenance Millwright, Certified (MILLW/JC) General Description General Summary of Duties: Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. Insure highest quality standards are instilled in all installations. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites. Maintains, repairs, and replaces or installs a broad range of mechanical equipment and support systems in support of base construction and maintenance activities. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Responsible for identifying proper materials required for specific installations, submitting material requisitions through the procurement process and following up with materials and/or logistics personnel until received. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed. The skills for this position are acquired through Certification as Journeyman Millwright and 7-10 years of experience." Specific Job Description • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment. · Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools. · Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment, using blueprints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures. · Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. · Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. · Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit, using hand tools and power tools. · Assemble machines, and bolt, weld, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools. · Lay out mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with power drill. · Bolt parts, such as side and deck plates, jaw plates, and journals, to basic assembly unit. · Align pump/motor shafts using precision dial indicator and/or laser instruments. · Level bedplate and establish centreline, using straightedge, levels, and transit. · Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools. · Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels to specified items, using portable gas heating equipment. · Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team. · Construct foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel. • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards. · Monitor work progression to ensure compliance to codes & standards. • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor. Skills/Qualifications: · High School Diploma or GED · To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Communication Skills – Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then can perform the task or project discussed. Also, to be able to ask questions to insure you understand the information given. Qualifications Long Term Maintnenace No Per Diem Work Schedule Mon - Friday 8 hours per day Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman General Description - Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, hammers, welding equipment, micrometers and laser alignment tools. - Perform routine preventative maintenance such as checking and changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. - Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices. - Welds broken equipment, parts, pipe and structural steel. - Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions. - Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges. - Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, compressors, valves, and piping that is associated with it. - Responsible for changing and installing new equipment such as pumps, gearboxes and valves. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties as required.
