ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a hands-on maintenance officer to join our team at our Moran Sylvania home. You will be working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
You will work with a wonderful team of dedicated people and your contribution will make a difference to our residents’ enjoyment of their life every day.

Key responsibilities:
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for managing the maintenance services at Moran Sylvania.

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for routine maintenance activities inside and outside the home and the Preventative Maintenance Schedule which covers equipment, building, fixtures and fittings and some gardens. They coordinate external Contractors who regularly visit the home and ensure compliance with building related regulations is maintained.

  • Perform maintenance tasks – Reactive & Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Maintain records using established systems and processes
  • Arrange equipment and building repairs with external suppliers
  • Receive deliveries and manage bulk storeroom
  • Oversee external contractors e.g. pest control, electrical
  • Maintain the grounds of the home

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous general maintenance experience is essential
  • Painting experience
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work semi-autonomously
  • Experience and understanding of Legislative requirements for Essential Services and WHS requirements for maintenance & repairs
  • Trade qualification desirable
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Knowledge of the aged care industry will be favourably considered
  • Current drivers licence, police check & valid working rights.
  • Current Influenza vaccination
