MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE

Location: Sunderland , Cloud Student Homes, UK
Reporting; Accommodation Manager
Hours of Work: 40 hours a week.
Salary £12.75 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven maintenance experience and qualifications where necessary
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and repair defective parts
• Ability to check blueprints and instruction manuals as necessary
• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance
• Strong organisation and follow-up skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Professional presentation and attitude
• Reliable with strong time management skills
• General knowledge of health and safety at work procedures will be advantageous

THE ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GROUND MAINTENANCE ALONG WITH THE BELOW DUTIES

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, maintain a clean site, and ensure security is maintained (locks, doors and windows all secure and maintained)
• Performing proactive preventative maintenance
• Maintaining up-to-date records
• Handling basic reactive repairs and maintenance i.e fixtures, fittings and equipment (generalist maintenance i.e. lighting, flood, broken glazing, ad hoc maintenance when required)
• Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them
• Repairing machines, equipment, or structures, as necessary.
• Regular fire alarm testing and emergency lighting systems, PAT testing
• Maintain building in accordance with legislation and ANUK Accreditation Scheme requirements.
