We are on the lookout for a brand new Maintenance Operative to be the heart of our student community in Livin, Cardiff.
This is a part-time, on-site position, working 20 hours per week on a fixed shift basis. Shifts are typically scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9am and 1pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break included for shifts over six hours. The role offers a salary of £12,698.40 reflective of experience and responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing.

As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll be a key part of ensuring everything on-site runs smoothly. Your role will include:

  • Delivering a great student experience – responding to maintenance requests quickly, keeping the site safe and ensuring students feel at home.
  • Carrying out maintenance and repairs – tackling plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and general fixes to keep everything in top condition.
  • Keeping communal areas and rooms at their best – making sure shared spaces and student rooms are well-maintained and fully functional.
  • Prioritising health & safety – completing compliance checks, carrying out fire alarm and water system tests and ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Working as part of a team – collaborating with contractors, housekeepers and management to keep the site running efficiently.

Who We’re Looking For.

We need a skilled, proactive problem-solver who takes pride in keeping things in top shape. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in maintenance, facilities or a handyman role.
  • A strong understanding of plumbing, electrics and general repairs.
  • A customer-focused mindset and a friendly, can-do attitude.
  • Great attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work flexibly as part of a team.
