Band 8: Permanent, Full Time Field Based role covering Wigan and surrounding areas Vehicle provided Here at Serco, we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing them with temporary accommodation. As the Maintenance Operative your role is key in ensuring all requested repairs, be that reactive or proactive and pre planned (via manager), are carried out to the required standard and within our SLA deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with previous maintenance experience within fields relating to joinery, kitchen fitting, bath fitting, general fitting, plumbing, painting & decorating, etc. You will be a highly motivated individual who can manage your own workflow as well as work effectively within a team when necessary. As a Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for the Health & Safety of yourself and that of all users of the property during, and after works have been undertaken and completed. As part of your role, you will be required to purchase and manage materials using a company account card from approved Serco suppliers only. Vehicles provided by the company will be inspected regularly by employees and kept in a professional and clean condition. Flexible Working pattern Mon to Fri 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 18:00 to meet the operational needs of the business. On –Call Requirements & Out of Hours Working There will be a requirement to undertake out of hours on call duties, working on a rota basis to ensure 24/7 emergency cover is provided as per our contractual responsibilities.
