ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mechanical Fitter (Rotating shift roster) role is a Full-time position, based at Springvale, Victoria. Reporting to the Production Manager at our Rooftile Manufacturing site, you will be working Monday to Friday on a rotating roster (morning: 5.45am-2pm, Afternoon: 1.45pm-10pm) assisting with general maintenance and breakdown work.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be required to have a manufacturing or Building background, Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate or Boilermaker Certificate, have good attendance and have a strong awareness and regard for health, safety and the environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating machine.
• Covering operator meal breaks.
• Participating in profile changeovers.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks.
• Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
• Complete repairs or modifications as requested by the Maintenance Planner or Shift Supervisor.
• Replace parts as required.
• Working with a small cleaning crew with a supervisor.
• High speed machinery - 120 tiles per minute.
• Mechanical Fitting, maintenance related to conveyors, stacking plant, cranes, drives, polycord conveyors, bearings rollers etc.
• Fabrication-Simple stick and MiG welding
• Machine tools - Occasional use of milling machine, lathe and pedestal drill.
• Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
