We are recruiting for a full time Maintenance Person who has a background in maintenance and a trade such as Electrician, Plumber, Joiner, Painting and Decorator or general trades experience. The Maintenance person is responsible for maintaining a safe and well-presented care home both internally and externally to benefit our residents, employees and all visitors. Applicants should have a high level of attention to detail taking pride in good tidy workmanship, good problem solving skills with an ability to repair equipment and have the foresight to complete preventative maintenance.
The successful candidate will be supported by our Group Facilities Manager and Home Manager to promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the care home to maintain a safe and highly presentable environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the upkeep of the Care Home both internally and externally to ensure the Home is both Safe and presented to the highest standards
  • To undertake both planned and adhoc maintenance which may include but not limited to; Painting, Minor Electrical, Plumbing & Joinery Works, repairs to equipment e.g. catering and laundry equipment, beds etc.
  • To advise the Home Manager and/or Facilities Manager when you require additional assistance to maintain, repair or service equipment or services, this may entail liaising with outside contractors.
  • To oversee the efficient operation of services such as heating, hot water and lighting
  • Maintaining the homes exterior including, gardens, flower beds, hedges, pathways and driveways to ensure all areas look presentable
  • Complete cyclical maintenance checks to equipment, fire alarm, emergency lighting, hot and cold water and documenting the records accordingly, including reporting any faults.
  • Available where possible to provide out of hours emergency cover should a maintenance issue need urgently addressed outside your working hours.
  • Ability to assemble, install new equipment/goods that may be added to the Home
