JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Planner expedites the flow of work and materials within the maintenance department according to work orders and the production schedule. Their duties include reviewing and distribution of work orders, and PM schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and maintenance problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 + years in a production or maintenance environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational and communication skills and problem solving.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates time management skills.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to fax, copy and scan documents.

  • Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
  • Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaboration with management, production, maintenance and logistics.
  • Confer with established personnel, venders, and customers to coordinate maintenance activities, and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Record maintenance data, including work orders, spare parts used, and missed deadlines.
  • Requisitions and maintains inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet maintenance demands.
  • Calculates figures such as required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators or computers.
  • Distribute maintenance schedules and work orders to departments.
  • Compiles information, such as work order rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
