EthosEnergy is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our team at Colorado Bend Power Plant located in Wharton, Texas. This role will report directly to the Maintenance Manager with a dotted line to the Plant and Operation Managers on a routine basis. The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. This position schedules the work to be accomplished daily, weekly and during planned outages; interfaces with the Maintenance and Operation Team to determine the required parts, equipment, and human resources to complete the work.

REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment
  • General knowledge of power plant operations
  • Experience as a power plant mechanic or equivalent
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and collaborate with others
  • Must be able to perform and manage varied tasks in an identify/analyze potentially complex compliance risks promptly
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • MS Project and Excel experience IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATAIONS ARE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Certified Maintenance Planner

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a planner in an industrial environment
  • Power plant experience is preferable
  • Must be able to understand complex drawings and diagrams
  • May have completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training or equivalent experience

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Possess state certification or equivalent qualification or license. Experience will be considered in lieu of certificates or licenses

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willing and able to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed on an emergency/short notice basis.
  • Willing and able to work in a loud/noisy, hot/cold, humid and dirty environments
  • Activities include frequent walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Repetitive movement is required, such as twisting, bending, gripping, operation of hand tools

Responsibilities
  • Review new work requests on a daily basis and establish priorities to serve as a guideline for work package development and subsequent work order scheduling and completion
  • Plan the preventive/corrective activities for maintenance personnel in performing maintenance and repair activities
  • Conduct regular planning meetings with Plant Management team and others as necessary to fully understand the work required; coordinate work plans among all stakeholders including plant personnel, contractors, suppliers and other entities as required
  • Develop work order packages in preparation for scheduling and assignment of work. Work order packages are to include necessary drawings, equipment instructions, procedures, material lists, tool and equipment lists.
  • Plans and schedule major project outages and provide priority lists for shadow maintenance. Utilize Microsoft Project to create detailed plans and schedules that include appropriate activities and resource assignments. Monitor project progress and provide appropriate updates of schedule and completion status
  • Establish contingency work priorities for forced outage situations
  • Recommend and facilitate the procurement of parts and equipment necessary to support all identified maintenance
  • Retrieve the required parts from inventory; identify the necessary tools for repair; research vendor technical instructions for all project repair work
  • Interface with the Operations Team to determine the required project conditions and appropriate work isolation for planned maintenance, including the preparation of lockout/tagouts
  • Coordinate the predictive maintenance program
  • Support warehouse management activities including parts receiving, staging and inventory.
  • Administer a maintenance plan using the CMMS that ensures electrical and mechanical equipment is serviced and maintained in accordance with vendor recommendations and procedures
  • Implement the preventive maintenance program, including equipment failure records and providing trend information to the Plant Management.
  • Support and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s)
  • Liaising with managers, venders and engineers to discuss the progress of the project and address any issues that arise
  • Produce work plans, help develop work scope documents for Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and other support for vender supplied bids.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Will act as the OCC for both planned and unplanned outages
  • Assist and take responsibility for plant inventory counts, needs, and overall organization
