JOB DESCRIPTION.

As a key member of the Facilities operations team, the Maintenance Planner will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance on building systems and patient equipment at multiple sites and keeping the Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) updated and accurate. As part of this role you will be a liaison between facilities leadership, external service providers, and clinical staff, and will be responsible for the documenting and reporting on of preventative maintenance KPIs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of university/college program in either Building Systems Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, or Asset Management.
  • Experience with contract management in a health care setting an asset.
  • Excellent proven knowledge of complex electrical and mechanical building systems, codes, standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Proven technical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge in Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), Assets Management, and MS Office applications essential.
  • Demonstrated skill with respect to organizational, project management, partnership building, and problem solving with multi-user groups.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight timelines, multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a dynamic team of professionals and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in virtual and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures all Facilities systems and equipment have planned and scheduled preventative maintenance as required by Healthcare standards and codes and to meet the hospital’s needs via the CMMS.
  • Coordinates with external service providers from start to finish, including scheduling, downtime planning, coordinating with hospital stakeholders, ensuring completion of work, receiving & documenting reports, ensuring reports are complete and accurate, and connecting with supervisors on related deficiencies.
  • Develops, monitors and delivers reports on key KPIs via the CMMS, i.e. labour costs and hours, equipment tracking for history and performance, inventory, preventative maintenance work orders, and scheduled downtime.
  • Organizing and maintaining service reports, regulatory compliance records, licensing and certification of all elements of HVAC system, life safety systems, electrical system, emergency power system, elevators, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management, clinical departments, service vendors, customers, staff, suppliers and the community to ensure safe and efficient systems and full customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Redevelopment, Facilities, capital & clinical teams to identify, tag, and enter new assets into the CMMS and setup necessary maintenance schedules and delete retired assets.
  • Oversees training components for staff on business processes and CMMS functionality.
