Description The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for improving equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency through effective planning, scheduling, and backlog management. This role owns of execution maintenance work orders from request through completion, ensuring work is properly scoped, planned, resourced, and scheduled to minimize downtime and maximize labor productivity. This position owns the preventive maintenance (PM) program, including PM task development, frequencies, optimization, and audit readiness; ensures PMs are fully planned and ready prior to scheduling but does not perform maintenance work. Requirements Creates and promotes a positive and proactive safety culture. Ensures a safe and healthy work environment and safe work practices. Ensures full compliance with all applicable company and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements. Ensure maintenance technicians are trained in safety policies and procedures, aware of safety requirements and accountable for working safely. Own and manage the maintenance backlog, ensuring work orders are properly scoped, prioritized, and ready for execution. Develop job plans including task steps, labor estimates, parts, tools, and contractor requirements. Establish and maintain a standardized job plan library within the CMMS. Enforce “planned before scheduled” standards for corrective and preventive maintenance. Develop and maintain weekly and daily maintenance schedules for PM, corrective, and project work. Coordinate equipment availability and outage windows with Operations and other departments. Plan and coordinate contractor work, including scope alignment, scheduling, and execution tracking. Requisition, track, and ensure availability of parts and materials required for scheduled work. Coordinate parts kitting and staging with storeroom or inventory personnel. Qualifications: Required High School Diploma or equivalent. 3-7 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or hands on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency with CMMS systems (Mainsaver preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a multi-craft, team-based manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs. Salary range here: $24 - 45 an hour - this is a salaried non exempt role.
