Maintenance Planner / Supervisor Detroit, MI Full Time/On-Site $130K Salary depending on experience The Maintenance Planner / Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities while also providing day-to-day leadership for maintenance personnel. This role ensures equipment reliability, safe work practices, and the effective execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs within a heavy industrial production environment. The position works closely with operations teams, maintenance staff, contractors, and parts inventory personnel to minimize equipment downtime and improve overall operational performance. Ideal Candidate Background 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning, supervision, or maintenance leadership Experience in heavy industrial environments such as manufacturing, processing, materials production, or similar operations Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) Working knowledge of hydraulics, diesel-powered equipment, welding, rigging, and electrical systems Exposure to PLC-based control systems preferred Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and develop detailed job plans for maintenance activities Provide leadership and support to maintenance technicians and assist with shift supervision as needed Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability Coordinate contractors, planned outages, and major repair activities Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history using computerized maintenance systems Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control system issues Support capital improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct equipment inspections in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments
