MAINTENANCE PLUMBER – HOSPITAL SETTING

  • Pay: TBC on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
  • Location: Hospital Environment EH16
  • DBS Check Required
  • Long term / permanent work available
    We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Plumber to join our client’s hospital maintenance team. You will be responsible for carrying out essential plumbing maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding to ensure the safe operation of critical hospital systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A good standard of Secondary Education, including Maths and English.
  • Background in Domestic & Commercial Plumbing and Drainage, preferably with a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Extensive and varied post-apprenticeship experience in installation, service, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs) and Legionella Control preferred.
  • A good understanding of Scottish Health Technical Memoranda would be an advantage.
  • City & Guilds, S/NVQ or equivalent qualification with a governing body such as SNIPEF.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning, and testing, completing all necessary reports and certificates.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and undertake fault-finding on medical gas systems, low-pressure heating water systems, critical systems, and pressurised steam systems.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and M&E Services Manager to report plant or equipment failures.
  • Support the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
