WAGE RATE $23.50-$33.00/Hour First shift position available. Work hours 5AM-3:30PM(10 hour shifts) Wednesday-Saturday-mandatory additional hours as required. The Alma plant has an opening for a 1st shift Powerhouse Maintenance Tech with opportunities for overtime. Successful candidates will work in our food processing production facility located in Alma, KS, and enjoy competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package. Incumbent would be supplied uniforms and must supply own tools from given list. Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial settings. This role ensures that HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely, including components such as air handlers, boilers, compressors, and pumps. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure system longevity and efficiency, including regular inspections of pumps, boilers, and air handlers. Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various HVAC systems and components, including compressors, pumps, and boilers. Inspection: Inspect and test HVAC systems and components to identify maintenance risks and address potential issues. Emergency Response: Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. Compliance: Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Customer Service: Assist customers with queries and provide technical advice. Documentation: Prepare records and reports detailing work performed, including the type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC systems preferred. Certifications: EPA Universal Certification and other relevant certifications such as NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or HVAC Excellence Experience: Previous experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, particularly with air handlers, boilers, compressors, and pumps, is highly desirable. Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, proficiency with tools and testing equipment, and excellent communication skills. Desired Skills: Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to HVAC equipment, including air handlers, boilers, compressors, and pumps. Familiarity with local HVAC codes and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment: HVAC Technicians may work in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments, and may be required to lift and carry heavy objects or work in adverse weather conditions. The incumbent will be exposed to all the hazard associated with a production floor environment not limited to the following - temperatures average 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit in plant, wet slippery floors, mechanical equipment, working with or around chemicals used to sanitize the facility and loud noise exposure. PPE required to include but limited to hard hat, safety glasses and hearing protection. When required by specific job other PPE will need to be worn.
