This is a permanent part-time position budgeted for 1800 hours per fiscal year (approximately 35 hours per week). What you will do… Perform skilled & semi-skilled maintenance tasks Perform minor installation & repair of plumbing equipment, electrical equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, electrical circuits) Perform building maintenance work (alter &/or repair buildings, prepare surfaces for painting, paint, physically move office furniture from one area to another) Operate & perform maintenance on Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems that include electric, propane, & wood boiler/outdoor wood furnace systems Drive pickup trucks, lawn maintenance vehicles & equipment Remove snow & ice from walkways & parking lot (e.g., shovel, blower, plow) Climb up and work on ladders Lift 10 to 100 pounds Starting hourly pay of $20.85/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $22.96/hr There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment); in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry only, applicants must have successfully completed the mandated basic firefighter/introduction to fire behavior course (S-130/S-190); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
