GENERAL FUNCTION

The Maintenance Scheduler/ Technician repairs, installs and disposes of equipment used in the plant. The individual will be involved in the overall maintenance of the plant site, including the buildings and grounds.

A) KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Journeyman Millwright Ticket
  • 3 years’ experience maintaining food or industrial plant equipment.
  • Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Parts Ordering Processes.
  • Data entry and data processing.
  • Experience in building detailed job plans.
  • Forklift certification
  • Must have valid driver’s licence.
  • Strong electrical knowledge.
  • Competent communication skills.
  • Competent computer knowledge.
  • Detail orientation regarding organization, equipment function, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work with the team and act independently to achieve standards.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts. Overtime and weekends when required.
Responsibilities
  • Developing detailed maintenance schedules for preventive and corrective maintenance based on equipment needs, production timelines, and resource availability.
  • Creating, prioritizing, and tracking work orders for maintenance tasks using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, and Excel) and CMMS, with the ability to learn new applications as required.
  • Support / Coordinate contracted maintenance resources, in order to meet additional special needs.
  • Repairs and maintains Production area equipment, machinery, electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, and other components so they remain at full functioning capacity.
  • Works with Maintenance Supervisor, and Technicians to order parts and services as needed. Reviewing data to order parts/inventory and services. Follows up to get quotes and information to ensure that all shifts have the necessary parts and services as needed to do their jobs.
  • Maintain records in Maintenance Software MPulse and updates the status of completion for all projects and requests.
  • Applies knowledge and enters data according to technical knowledge and information, outside contractor services that may be needed and spare parts inventory.
  • Conveys ideas and suggestions about reducing technical Problems to the Maintenance Supervisor, helping to improve efficiency levels.
  • Ensures that Health and Safety Codes outlined by Federal, Provincial and Plant bodies are being adhered to in all work being performed.
  • Sustains the cleanliness and accessibility of the Maintenance Shop.
  • Attends all Safety Committee Meetings, relaying any suggestions or concerns on behalf of the Maintenance Department.
  • Attends all the required Courses for the Journeyman Certification, maintaining a passing assessment and evaluation.
  • Practices “Clean as you go” policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
