Description Overview: The Maintenance Shift Lead is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient leadership to the shift maintenance team. This role provides indirect supervision, technical support, planning, and troubleshooting across all manufacturing equipment, utilities, and site infrastructure. The Shift Lead ensures equipment uptime, supports maintenance execution, and drives a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: · Assist technicians in troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and calibrating electrical and mechanical systems. · Provide indirect leadership to the maintenance team through coaching, guidance, and skill development. · Coordinate daily maintenance tasks to support equipment uptime and production needs. · Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA regulations, safety permits, escalation protocols, and food safety risk controls. · Support utilities infrastructure, including air compressors, boilers, chillers, ice machines, and wastewater systems. · Initiate Breakdown Analyses (BDAs) when failures meet criteria, ensuring complete documentation and follow-up. · Perform additional maintenance and operational support tasks as required. Requirements Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities: · Participate in continuous improvement and reliability-focused initiatives. · Assist with documentation updates, training materials, or coaching when needed. · Support cross-functional teams during audits, projects, or equipment installations. Background/Education Requirements: Minimum Requirements: · High school diploma, GED, or higher. · 3+ years of maintenance technician experience (mechanical and electrical. · Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems up to 480VAC, including 3-phase power. · Knowledge of mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive components. · Prior experience coaching or developing peers. · Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Preferred Requirements: · Technical or trade school certification, or technical degree. · Industrial electrical maintenance experience. · 5+ years maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing process or packaging equipment. · Previous food or manufacturing industry experience. · PLC and instrumentation troubleshooting skills. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements · Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures (coolers, ovens, production floor). · Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. · Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods as required.
