OUR OPPORTUNITY

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine, located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people
Roster: 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO from Perth, Busselton, Broome, Fitzroy Crossing, or Kununurra
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Specialist – Drills to join our team at Christmas Creek. This pivotal role is responsible for identifying performance issues in drill equipment and driving effective maintenance and rectification plans. Reporting into the Mobile Maintenance team, this position plays a key part in supporting drill fleet performance and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical Fitter).
  • Proven experience in mobile equipment maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Atlas Copco and CAT drill rigs; flexibility to work with other OEMs as required.
  • Previous experience working with autonomous drill systems (desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is highly regarded.
  • Current C-Class Manual Driver’s Licence (mandatory).

Responsibilities
  • Champion a culture of Zero Harm by ensuring all work is risk assessed, with hazards effectively mitigated and controlled.
  • Conduct and oversee scheduled inspections, audits, and maintenance activities within required timeframes.
  • Ensure maintenance plans are executed to a high standard, on time and in full.
  • Investigate and diagnose drill performance issues; collaborate with Reliability Engineers to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to maintenance personnel to uplift team capability.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a high-performing maintenance culture.
