Overview:
Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Maintenance Specialist at the Rice Lake Campus. Each of these positions will have a shift from 6 am-2 pm Monday-Friday with a rotation of every 6th Saturday. There are two open positions available.
Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Specialist performs a variety of tasks required to maintain a clean and safe campus environment. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for building operations, building/equipment/vehicle repairs, troubleshooting and repair operational systems and equipment.

  • Perform facility security duties in accordance with established procedures including weekend and holiday building checks.

  • De-alarm and open facilities and classrooms as per written/verbal instructions

  • Unload, distribute or store in proper location, utilizing a forklift as needed
  • Complete, sign, route paperwork to proper authority or supervisor

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a preventative maintenance program. Identify, report, and take action to solve mechanical problems, malfunctions, or safety hazards.

Qualifications:

Experience & Degree Required:

  • Combination of related education and/or work experience totaling three years
  • Post-secondary training or work experience in facilities and equipment maintenance and repair

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; bend, twist, stoop, and climb ladders on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, blueprints, and manuals
  • Ability to understand automatic controls, including testing and monitoring
  • Knowledge and skill in trouble-shooting facilities maintenance operations and installation/repair of the following systems:
