Responsibilities

As the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in promoting and managing safe work practices, implementing reliability-centered maintenance programs, and providing leadership to maintenance, planners, and supervisory teams. Your focus will be on minimizing downtime, enhancing production capability, and ensuring maintenance excellence.

General

  • Deliver effective maintenance support to the operation.
  • Implement Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Defection Elimination, Planning, Scheduling, Project Management, and Risk-Based Management.
  • Manage predictive/preventative maintenance programs.
  • Select potential candidates for vacant positions in the maintenance department.
  • Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and reports.
  • Manage monthly maintenance outages.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure predictive/preventative maintenance procedures meet quality standards.
  • Minimize equipment downtime through effective work planning and scheduling.
  • Exercise budgetary responsibility within the area of expertise.
  • Provide leadership in the development of professional and technical staff.
  • Develop programs to ensure a high level of equipment reliability and availability.
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance records.
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental protection practices.
  • Participate in or facilitate Defect Elimination through Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Directly supervise Maintenance Supervisors/Planners.
  • Implement performance management systems.
  • Administer the progressive discipline system.
  • Supervise maintenance trades, planners, and supervisors.
  • Oversee contractor activities.

Leadership:

  • Provide support, guidance, mentoring, and training to staff.
  • Achieve desired results while balancing the needs of the company, group, and individuals.

Financial:

  • Participate in preparing annual operating budgets.
  • Provide input in Major Maintenance and Capital Expenditure planning for operations.

Communication:

  • Establish and maintain efficient two-way communication with company employees and outside resources.
