Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following
(Performs other assignments or duties as required as well as rotates shifts.)
1. Ensures lines are running effectively by fixing problems and ordering parts. May need to find outside help from technical staff if necessary. Assures that equipment is calibrated per the documented calibration schedule.
2. Plan and arrange employees work times by creating, updating and modifying work schedules.
3. Follows regulations and policy guidelines by attending meetings, creating work orders, and supervising workers with safety, environmental and GMP issues. Assures the PSA Work Order system is properly followed.
4. Appraises employees by completing a yearly mechanic evaluation.
5. Ensures timely and satisfactory project completion by managing employees’ workload, and by contacting/scheduling vendors and service technicians as necessary.
6. Informs management by writing ‘End of Season’ and downtime reports as well as production evaluations.
7. Records actions by completing back up procedures and filing accounting documents.
8. Ensures that job tasks are aligned with company production needs, monitoring performance, coaching, appraising job results, and praising/disciplining as necessary.
9. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Contributes to the Company effort by continually looking for ways to improve productivity and customer orientation within department by use of better technology, procedures and use of resources.
10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge/skills by using the performance appraisal system to access personal strengths and development needs to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization.
11. Ensure that equipment is maintained as to not pose a food safety or food quality risk.

Essential knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences
 Requires knowledge that is acquired through a high school degree or its equivalent in experience
 Two to three years experience in mechanical work.
 Knowledge of mechanical principles and procedures.
 Knowledge of office procedures, methods, and computers including spreadsheet applications.
 Ability to write reports and correspondence.
 Ability to communicate in English and under stand information one-on-one and in small groups. Ability to communicate with staff members, top management, and mechanics.
 Ability to establish rapport to gain information or gain compliance through persuasion or negotiation.
 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety to situations where only limited standardization exists.
 Ability to prioritize and be detail oriented.
 Ability to work under pressure of constant deadlines.
 Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and demographic backgrounds
 Ability to maintain confidential information
 Ability to supervise others.
