We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at Canopy London City. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel’s Engineering and Maintenance department, including responsibility for fire safety, health, and overall safety compliance.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, your role will involve utilizing your technical expertise to ensure that all hotel facilities are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring an exceptional experience for guests and staff alike. You will work closely with the Engineering team, carrying out both scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks across all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on the hotel’s infrastructure, including finishes, furnishings, and fittings, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Operate and maintain building systems and equipment (boilers, pumps, air handling units, fans, electrical systems, pipework, and more) according to established guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members to ensure prompt service delivery.
  • Complete maintenance requests, follow-up on repairs, and document all work done.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular inspections of fire and life safety systems.
  • Conduct property-wide and plant inspections, ensuring all systems operate efficiently.
  • Update records and engineering reports as required.
  • Monitor the hotel’s Building Management System (BMS) and respond to any alerts.
  • Assist with the preventive maintenance program across the property.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Engineering department in the absence of the Chief Engineer or Maintenance Manager.
