Description Maintenance Supervisor – Affordable Housing Community (Aurora, IL) A well-established property management company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support a busy Section 8 apartment community in Aurora, IL. Position Overview: The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all property maintenance operations, ensuring the community is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. This role is hands-on and includes supervising maintenance staff, coordinating work orders, and managing preventative maintenance programs. Key Responsibilities: Lead, train, and support on-site maintenance team members Complete and assign work orders, unit turns, and preventative maintenance Ensure all building systems and equipment are functioning properly Maintain compliance with HUD/Section 8 requirements and property standards Oversee vendor scheduling, project timelines, and maintenance budgets Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed Requirements Qualifications: Previous maintenance lead or supervisor experience required Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs Experience working in Section 8 or affordable housing communities strongly preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and leadership skills Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
