OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our maintenance team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in industrial maintenance, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role is critical in maintaining equipment reliability and safety standards while fostering a productive work environment.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, with 1–3 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate maintenance staff and external contractors.
  • Experienced in planning, prioritizing, and assigning work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficient in developing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Familiar with HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, compressed air, lift trucks, cranes, and basic robotics.
  • Comfortable using digital tools for maintenance scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with minor PLC programming and welding is an asset.
  • Physically capable of performing maintenance duties, including lifting, kneeling, and working in confined spaces as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise all day-to-day maintenance activities, including both scheduled preventative maintenance and unplanned repairs.
  • Provide leadership to the maintenance team and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
  • Act as the primary liaison between production and maintenance to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and perform hands-on repair work on production machinery, welding equipment, cranes, forklifts, HVAC, air compressors, and related systems as required.
  • Review maintenance logs from day and night shifts and prioritize corrective actions.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables; initiate purchase orders for replacements as needed.
  • Coordinate inspections, repairs, and warranty service with third-party vendors (e.g., cranes, forklifts, compressors, fire systems).
  • Ensure fire suppression systems and extinguishers are maintained in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Schedule and complete seasonal facility tasks such as winterizing HVAC systems.
  • Support capital project planning related to building systems or equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure maintenance work complies with AMI’s safety standards, OHSA, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Support employee development by training and mentoring team members.
  • Document and maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, certifications, and equipment history.
  • Proven management experience with a focus on leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical systems and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in using CMMS for efficient management of maintenance operations.
  • Excellent command of English for effective communication within the team and across departments.
  • Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience, particularly in HVAC systems.
