Daily Schedule/Shift: Rotating shifts – Days (6:30am-2:30pm), Afternoons (2:30pm-10:30pm) and potentially Nights (10:30pm-6:30am), must be open to all three shifts.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Over 1 year maintenance supervisor experience in automotive manufacturing plant
  • Strong leadership skills – safety regulations, conflict resolution, motivating team members, training opportunities
  • Strong technical knowledge – troubleshooting, schematics, manuals, automation (robots, PLC logic)
  • High level of problem solving skills – prioritizing resources, 5 why & root cause analysis
  • Experience in supervision of multi-trade workforce
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, manufacturing, assembly processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
  • Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously with occasional guidance from leaders and peers
  • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Experience in General Motors manufacturing facilities
  • Trained in skilled trades area or equivalent technical training
  • Familiar with the software Maximo
  • Experience on supervising unionized work force

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a full time Maintenance Leader in our client’s automotive Assembly/OEM facility GA(General Assembly)/Body/Paint Department. In this role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for upholding company’s purpose and values and ensuring the safe work practices of all its employees. You will develop and monitor business plan objectives by managing safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost and environment. In order to achieve these objectives, you will work with UNIFOR and Plant floor managers from all departments to motivate, train and manage your employee productivity while driving continuous improvements throughout. You will have Supervisory responsibility over a group of Hourly employees engaged in plant production operations, including Electricians and Industrial Maintenance Mechanics. Work involves the coordination of a number of operations involving the ability to make decisions within the limits of general practices and policies. Work is performed under general supervision, while exercising a high level of independent judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise trades and assist them in achieving business objectives
  • Administer labor relations as required
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and regulations
  • Manage manpower to maintain throughput and all cost objectives
  • Coordinate maintenance, tooling and engineering schedule demand in area of responsibility
  • Support ongoing Thru-put initiatives through Maximo PM (Preventative Maintenance) completion and process improvements
  • Embrace Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles as they apply to maintenance organizations
  • Lead activities during equipment breakdowns
  • Plan and coordinate downtime work for Maintenance
