Description King’s Command Foods has an opportunity for a First Shift Maintenance Supervisor at our Versailles, OH facility. As our Machine Operator, you will: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and leads a team of Maintenance Systems Technicians to ensure the facility and all equipment, both production and building-related, within the plant are operational, maintained, and functioning correctly. Support company safety initiatives through compliance with safe work practices, identifying and implementing improvements in the work environment, and standardizing best practices. Coordinate with Food Safety / Quality and Operations teams to maintain facility and equipment in compliance with regulatory and 3rd party audit requirements and sanitary design elements. Direct supervision of a team of maintenance technicians in support of company volume and productivity objectives through effective completion of preventative maintenance routines, effective troubleshooting, and repair associated with equipment failure(s), complete RFCA (Root Cause and Failure Analysis) associated with downtime events as part of Continuous Improvement initiatives. Provide direction and priorities to plant maintenance personnel when responding to non-routine work to minimize downtime. Provide training and resources necessary to comply with plant Safety, Food Safety, Human Resources, and Workforce Development. Maintain time and attendance for direct reports. Coordinate any disciplinary actions as needed with the Human Resources department. Assist with the plant implementation associated with TPM and CMMS to improve reliability and overall equipment uptime. Review and update preventative maintenance routines per OEM recommendations and failure analysis/performance metrics. Coordinate maintenance and production activities in support of productivity goals. Act as a point of contact for the 3rd-party sanitation team and support needs to effectively complete daily sanitation. Utilize the plant work order system to plan and track maintenance activities and costs during production and non-production times Assist the maintenance manager in managing weekend projects and preventative maintenance with the internal maintenance team and outside contractors/service providers. Requirements Basic Qualifications (Required): 5 to 10 years of experience leading maintenance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong preference towards food manufacturing/processing. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven track record supervising, planning, and scheduling hourly maintenance personnel. Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, steam, and hot water generation systems. Experience in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems to deploy maintenance strategies. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/fluid power systems associated with the food processing equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing). Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Prefer post-graduate education and training in industrial technology or equivalent experience. Ability to work in an on-call environment. NOTE: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Enforce, develop, and maintain safe working practices for all technicians. Develop and train technicians in their respective work areas, including providing hands-on training on technical skills. Provide guidance and input on career development for technicians. Counsel technicians on job performance and implement or make recommendations on disciplinary actions as necessary. Conduct performance reviews and other periodic performance feedback. Make recommendations on decisions regarding hiring, firing, and compensating technicians. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems. Build and manage projects to meet timelines. Maintain complete equipment maintenance records and PM schedules for all facilities. Manage the team to ensure productivity and finished product quality. Design, measure, analyze, implement, and control mechanical process improvements. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust them quickly. Lead team in repairing downed equipment in a fast-paced, time-critical environment, if necessary. Recommend equipment modifications to improve the process. Other duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Utilizes personal experience, in-house subject matter experts, or knowledgeable 3rd parties to determine how each job should be done. Applies proven reliability practices and methodologies related to precision maintenance techniques and reliability-centered maintenance-based strategies to job plans and PM procedures. Provides requests to MRO Buyer and storeroom personnel for needed materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts. Ensures work is fully planned and ready to schedule in order to meet plant deadlines. Encourages and solicits feedback from the Maintenance Team in order to update and improve corrective job plan procedures and PM procedures. Update and improve equipment and repair parts data in the CMMS, including BOM info, specifications, manuals, or other technical information found during job scoping and research. Utilizes metrics/data to evaluate and improve work processes. Monitors planning performance levels to ensure they are consistent with goals. Follows standard proactive work management processes to ensure repeatable performance. Manage and Maintain the Plant CMMS as a Subject Matter Expert and Quality Assurance Officer. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in industrial fabrication, machining, electrical troubleshooting or related focus is preferred. Must have direct experience leading and coaching associates. Read machine diagrams and parts breakdowns. Read and interpret electrical drawings. Use of hand and machine tools. Able to use a voltmeter. Able to work effectively in the following environments: cold, hot, wet, and high areas. Able to obtain certification with material handling equipment. Above average mechanical abilities. Five years of experience in an industrial maintenance role with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge and experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Ability to fully leverage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as MaintainX Strong Microsoft Office skills Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and processes. Strong decision-making and organizational skills Knowledge of reliability principles involved in Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Knowledge of reliability principles, skills, techniques, and tools involved in Precision Maintenance Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings, including technical prints/assembly drawings.
