Higgins Hamilton have secured an exciting new contract - the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. Due to this, our team is growing, and we are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join the Green Team now, ready for project kick off in July 2025.
The contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and includes maintenance of a comprehensive network of approximately 1200km of sealed and unsealed roads including rural and coastal areas.
You will be managing the operational for delivery of maintenance works, annual programmed works, pre-reseal repairs, and additional works projects provided by Waikato DC. You will also deal with our supplier and sub-contractors on a daily basis and support and foster a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Experience in construction and road maintenance (to Supervisor level)
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and schedule work
  • Experience with plant and people resourcing, managing utilisation and plant costs
  • Full Class 1 License – Class 2 and WTR beneficial
  • Problem solving skills around everyday re-active maintenance works
  • A strong focus on health and safety not only for yourself, your team but also the public
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written and a person who can build long standing relationships
  • Reliable, honest team player who leads from the front
