Job Description Key Tasks and Responsibilities Assist in the management and control of the Maintenance Department. Organize, supervise, and execute mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures and best practices. Supervise the operation and maintenance of utility systems. Organize and perform condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment related to process, marine, and utility systems. Supervise and perform Engine Room watchkeeping duties, as required. Plan, coordinate, and control mechanical maintenance activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations. Administer and follow up mechanical modification requests in accordance with the Management of Change (MOC) procedure. Ensure proper collection, storage, and disposal of operational waste generated by the Maintenance Department, in compliance with regulations. Supervise housekeeping in machinery spaces, ensuring cleanliness and good working conditions at all times. Supervise the proper use, maintenance, and availability of workshop equipment, tools, and measuring instruments. Supervise and coordinate bunkering operations, ensuring safety and procedural compliance. Participate actively in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Assist in the preparation of the maintenance budget and monitor expenditure. Ensure adequate availability of mechanical spare parts and consumables; participate in stock reviews and optimization. Ensure the Permit to Work (PTW) system is strictly applied, controlled, and complied with at all times. Ensure effective use of the CMMS, reviewing maintenance data to confirm it is accurate, technically valid, and up to date. Prepare and issue maintenance reports and ensure proper maintenance of technical documentation and records. Qualifications Education & Certifications Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related discipline. Valid watchkeeping / engine room certification (where applicable). Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) systems and Management of Change (MOC) processes. Additional HSE or maintenance-related certifications are an advantage. Experience Minimum 7–10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within industrial plants, refineries, energy, marine, or process facilities. Proven experience in a supervisory or lead maintenance role. Strong background in utility systems, rotating and static mechanical equipment. Hands-on experience in condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting. Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of industrial projects. Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Exposure to bunkering operations and engine room activities is a strong advantage. Technical Skills Solid knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, preventive and corrective maintenance. Ability to manage maintenance planning, execution, and reporting through a CMMS. Good understanding of spare parts management, stock optimization, and cost control. Familiarity with workshop equipment, tools, and measuring instruments. Strong understanding of HSE requirements, waste management, and housekeeping standards. Soft Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and other departments. Good organizational and planning skills. Strong safety culture and attention to detail. Ability to work in challenging operational environments and under time constraints. Clear communication and reporting skills. Languages Fluent in French & English (spoken and written).
